TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas has successfully completed the recertification of Fitness Meals under the private “No Food Waste” Certification Scheme, confirming the company’s ongoing commitment to preventing food waste and implementing responsible practices that promote sustainable development.
Fitness Meals, an innovative meal delivery service offering ready-to-eat, calorie-controlled meals of high nutritional value, has integrated a comprehensive food waste prevention and reduction system into its operations, meeting today’s growing demand for responsible production and consumption. Through the implementation of the “No Food Waste” Certification Scheme, developed in collaboration with the non-profit organization “Boroume – Saving Food, Saving Lives,” the company applies documented procedures for preventing food waste throughout all stages of its production process, maximize the utilization of processing by-products and surplus food, and ensure the proper management of organic waste. Key priorities include food safety, environmental protection, and waste prevention.
The recertification confirms that Fitness Meals’ processes continue to meet the requirements of the Certification Scheme, recognizing the consistent implementation of a system that combines high-quality food production with responsible environmental management.
The “No Food Waste” private Certification Scheme by TÜV AUSTRIA has been designed to support food businesses in adopting practices that reduce food waste, strengthen the circular economy, and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, while also promoting compliance with the evolving expectations of both the market and society .
