Summary
PLOOTO builds a Circular and Resilient Information System (CRIS) that lets European manufacturers trace secondary raw materials end-to-end and act on real-time data across their value chains. The system combines a traceability and governance framework, cognitive digital twins of products and processes, dataspaces for material recovery, digital product passports, and a circular sustainability scorecard — piloted in citrus-processing by-products, magnet recycling from WEEE, and carbon-fibre composite recovery for drone manufacturing. The goal: make circular operations financially and operationally legible enough for manufacturers to adopt them on a scale.
Objectives
- Deliver an open Circular and Resilient Information System (CRIS) covering traceability, governance, digital-twin modelling and sustainability assessment.
- Validate CRIS in three industrial pilots covering by-product reuse, composite recycling and CRM recovery from WEEE.
- Define certification specifications for digital product passports and circular value chains.
- Embed standardisation work and educational outreach so the framework can be adopted beyond the project.
Our role
TAH brings certification, conformity-assessment and standards expertise into a project that is, at heart, about whether digital traceability can be trusted. TAH leads Task related to “Guidelines for Replication, Deployment and Certification”, defining how a circular value chain can be replicated and how the resulting CRIS data can be linked to material certification and Digital Product Passport requirements. TAH also contributes to Impact Assessment and to standardisation activity.
Beyond the technical role, TAH also contributes the dissemination reach of the TÜV AUSTRIA Group — over 6,500 certified companies in the Group’s regional footprint and a worldwide auditor network — and runs dedicated PLOOTO training sessions through TAH’s industrial education channels so that pilot results land with manufacturers who can actually adopt them.

- A replicable CRIS architecture with associated certification guidance for circular value chains.
- Training and educational modules embedded in lifelong-learning channels, including TÜV AUSTRIA Group industrial training.
